Objective: SWBAT........

This week Students will begin to explore fractions as numbers, parts of a whole, parts of a set, and positions on a number line. They will begin to compare fractions and to recognize equivalent fractions.

  • Today......Students can understand fractions as parts of a whole and can understand that fractions that name the same part of a whole are equivalent.
Standard

3.NF.1 Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts; understand a fraction a/b as the quantity formed by a parts of size 1/b.
