This week Students will begin to explore fractions as numbers, parts of a whole, parts of a set, and positions on a number line. They will begin to compare fractions and to recognize equivalent fractions.

  • Students can identify the position of common fractions  on a number line and can compare two fractions using their proximity to zero as well as the size of their denominators and numerators.

This week Students will explore skip counting by tens. Using this as a base, students count objects using groups of 10. Finally, the student explores the equivalence of a number multiplied by 10 and 10 multiplied by that number.
